Barnstable County Fair 2008 - Opens July 18!

BARNSTABLE COUNTY FAIR OPENS JULY 18 ...
A World Cup bull riding rodeo and the disco icons Village People will headline the 2008 Barnstable County Fair that opens Friday, July 18 at the Fairgrounds on Rte. 151 in East Falmouth. It will run daily through July 26. The Fair was established in 1844.

The Barnstable County Fair has been an annual summer tradition on Cape Cod for 164 years. The Fair is a place where families can spend the day together and share experiences they can only experience at the Barnstable County Fair.

There are animal shows, 4-H demonstrations, petting zoos, horticulture displays, rides, games, live music, arts & crafts, food and commercial vendors with various arts and crafts for sale.

The Fair features the best in wholesome family fun and entertainment. More than 85,000 people attend with an anticpated 90,000 this year. The Barnstable County Fair is a great place to get up close and personal with the farm animals, enjoy a world of fun foods and the thrill of Rockwell Amusements Midway rides.

Rock Harbor Hosts Special Olympics

Thursday July 17th is the 25th Annual Special Olympics Fishing Tournament at Rock Harbor. The Festivities begin at 9AM with the Harbor beautifully decorated to celebrate the athletes annual fishing tournament.

The Captains and Mates donate their 4 hour charter trip. This year marks the 25th year of the event. Come cheer on the participants as the boats leave the harbor at 9:15AM and return at 1:15PM for the awards, live raffle and cookout.
